H.J. Wegner 100 years in the North
April- 2014- January -2015.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of HJ Wegner’s birth in Tønder, the Tønder Art Museum invited five contemporary Nordic designers to create new work inspired by the Danish designer.
The dining table in my childhood home was ringed with Wegner’s CH38 chairs. It is the fond memories of birthdays celebrated with friends and family around the table and upon these chairs that inspired me to celebrate Wegner’s 100 anniversary with a balloon made out of glass supported by the same wood used in his CH38 chair.
Materials: oak, mouth-blown, sandblasted glass, electric light bulb.
